Gemma Deleon-Lopresti Bio

Gemma Deleon-Lopresti is a nationally recognized mediator and facilitator with deep expertise in resolving complex disputes and building stronger workplace relationships. She has mediated hundreds of high-stakes collective bargaining disputes across industries including arts and entertainment, manufacturing, transportation, and energy. Known for guiding labor and management through tough negotiations, Gemma helps parties move past impasse and toward durable, interest-based solutions.

As a former Commissioner/Mediator and Northeast Field Operations Manager at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, Gemma led initiatives to strengthen labor-management relationships nationwide.  Her work includes facilitating joint labor-management committees, interest-based problem solving and bargaining processes, steward-supervisor development, and customized training programs that build trust, improve communication, and foster collaboration.

Gemma also brings perspective from her early career experience working within a labor union, giving her a first-hand understanding of the workplace issues that drive conflict — an asset she uses to build trust with both labor and management.

In addition to her mediation practice, she is a certified Prosci change management practitioner, supporting leaders through times of transition and organizational growth.

Gemma volunteers as a trustee of Suffolk County Community College and as an advisory board member for the Long Island Power Authority and the Energeia Partnership at Molloy University.  She has taught business management courses at Nassau Community College and holds a BA in Public Administration and an MBA in Business Management from St. John’s University.
